About TJ

TJ is a US citizen living in the UK and has been narrating audiobooks featuring women who love women since 2016. She knows how important it is to have media that reflects who you are - growing up as a young lesbian with a voracious appetite for books, she almost never saw positive stories about the LGBTQ+ community - and certainly never about the women within that community. Pledging to take action, TJ began focusing specifically on narrating books in these genres and has never looked back!

In addition to being an audiobook narrator, TJ is also very active in the LGBTQ+ activism community, leading an employee network of over 3,000 people, chairing the Board of Trustees of a local LGBTQ+ charity, and even four times being named to the top 100 LGBT Future Leaders by the Financial Times & OUTstanding, as well as the top 100 Pride Power list. Phwoar!

Rates (Audiobooks)

PER FINISHED HOUR (PFH) PROJECTS

  • A fee of £200 GBP / $230 USD per hour of finished audio is paid prior to submission of the audio files (1/3 deposit up front)

  • Editing and mastering is subcontracted out to an experienced and professional audiobook engineer for a high quality finish and a quicker turn around.

    • Per finished hour is calculated by taking the total words in your manuscript and dividing them by 9000 (the average number of words a narrator can read aloud in an hour) and then rounding up to the nearest whole hour. So an 80,000 word manuscript would work out to 8.8, and be rounded up to 9 finished hours.

HYBRID PROJECTS (Royalty Share Plus / RS+)

  • A fee of £50 GBP per finished hour is paid in two instalments (half up front and half on delivery of completed audio), and used to cover expenses for sending the raw audio to a professional studio for editing and proofing.

  • We also split the royalties of the sales as per the standard Royalty Share terms

  • Mastering of the audio files is done by myself, via a professionally set up suite of software plugins.
